Professor Julienne Meyer is a registered nurse and qualified teacher,
who is leading a programme of research on Care for Older People at
City University, London. She also holds an Adjunct Professorship with
the University
of South Australia.
Over the
last ten years at City University, she has developed a substantial
portfolio of research focusing on acute, continuing and end of life
care for older people. Sub-themes to the work include user and carer
involvement, interprofessional working and workforce/practice
development through action research.
Julienne
has an international reputation for methodological expertise in action
research, and qualitative inquiry. Throughout her career she has
blurred the boundaries between education, practice and research,
working across many traditional boundaries (lay and professional,
health and social care, theory and practice). She has also worked
across several disciplinary boundaries including sociology, psychology
and education. She currently serves on a number of international
Editorial Boards including Educational Action Research (co-editor),
International Journal of Older People Nursing, Journal of Research in
Nursing and Qualitative Health Research.
